Experiences

As a certified medical scribe for PhysAssist Scribes Inc, I assisted emergency medicine physicians by ensuring the accuracy and precision of patient charts. While adhering to HIPAA policies I documented patient history while in high pressure/fast paced situations. During my time as a scribe my threshold and tolerance for high stress situations increased.  I served my time across 3 different hospitals; Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, St. Mary's Trauma Center, and Good Samaritan Hospital where I saw over 3000 patients. The opportunity to observe a diverse array of procedures was a secondary effect of becoming a medical scribe. I'd like to add that I practiced remarkable bedside manner to ensure that patients felt comfortable. 

International Medical Outreach is an organization that is committed to mission work in underserved areas of the world.  We do several mission trips throughout the year, traveling to different countries, to raise student cultural awareness while providing aid to those in need. IMO has a Mentorship program that I participated in, and I built a trustworthy relationship with my mentee by supporting him under every circumstance. I have had the opportunity to shadow and volunteer abroad with IMO, in Brazil, in May 2023. I also look forward to continuing my volunteer work with IMO at Advent Health among various other organizations. 

The Pre Student Osteopathic Medical Association is and undergraduate division of the National SOMA; one of the largest national organizations for osteopathic medical students. As an aspiring DO, I have become Chief of Operations for UCF Pre-SOMA where I will be overseeing all activities pertaining to the club. I am serving alongside the rest of the board of directors to ensure that underclassmen have support/access to important experiences involving osteopathic medicine. We shadow local Doctors of Osteopathic medicine, and volunteer at Advent Health.

As a certified pharmacy technician, I accurately process, dispense, and store an average of 200 prescriptions per day; including performing the technical processes for filling advanced scripts. I communicate with the patient, making sure to show empathy while listening to their concerns, to collect information regarding their medical conditions and prescriptions, and also arrange consultations with the Pharmacist if necessary. Quality, efficiency, and accuracy are of upmost importance and I uphold to exceptional standards. I also oversaw the Covid-19 testing program by performing covid tests for patients, and training my colleagues to perform covid tests. I am certified to perform covid tests and give immunizations.
